Welcome
to The New Village website!
Our Vision:
The
New Village is a planned residential community (PUD) in Santa
Cruz County, California. It is situated on 3-6 acres with
15 single-family dwellings (of up to 2000 sq. ft.) and four-plex
one-bedroom units for seniors and singles arranged in clusters.
A 3,000 sq. ft. common house with kitchen facilities sits
in the center of the property. A sacred temple for worship
services, meditation and spiritual practices is also housed
on the property. Homes are situated to maximize passive and/or
active solar heating with the highest levels of green construction
as economically feasible utilized. The architectural principles
of “universal access” are incorporated into the
common house and most, if not all, private residences. The
grounds are beautifully landscaped with drought tolerant and
edible plants and open space is maximized. Pedestrian walkways
connect the individual homes and apartments to each other,
the common house and other community facilities. Non-essential
traffic and most parking is limited to the periphery of the
property.
